Hello! My name is Kim James and I am a fine artist & fine art wedding and portrait photographer from San Francisco living in Plumas County. I specialize in capturing honest emotion in portraiture, artistic details and the real moments for the coolest people in Northern California.

My blog trails both my professional and personal life, and features photographs from everything I shoot and my thoughts on real issues. This site is meant to be casual and openly honest. Unedited. I wanted my clients to have a real feeling about who I am and sometimes that can prove to be fun or a bit off the wall, but always real.

My aim is to provide stunning, contemporary imagery with fashion editorial style and artistic edge. That means I shoot what naturally unfolds and if your up for it, some gentle direction, for an editorial look. I also provide wedding destination coverage to my favorite Northern California places and venues; including Reno, Lake Tahoe, North Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Mendocino, Sonoma, St. Helena, Calistoga, Napa, San Francisco, Chico, Redding, Lake Almanor and Susanville.

Zoe the Pin up

Zoe and I embarked on a collaborative effort to create a tasteful pin up gift for her husband on their anniversary. Neither one of us has done a shoot like this before. We both researched pin ups and this is what we were able to come up with. I think Zoe is such a sport and I am really pleased with the way they turned out.
